Your NDIS plan is designed to support you in achieving your goals and living your best life. To do that, your plan may include funding across four main areas:

Recurring Supports
You might receive funding in one or more of these areas, depending on your individual needs and goals. If you are on the new , some funding categories work a little differently, we’ll explain those too
Core Supports: Are your day-to-day supports, the ones that help you with daily tasks and participation in the community
Core Supports funding is flexibly across four key areas:
🏠 Assistance with Daily Life
Helps you live as independently as possible. Examples include:

Personal care (showering, dressing)

Meal preparation
-
House cleaning, gardening
-
Respite
🤝 Social & Community Participation
Supports you to join in community, social, and recreational activities.
This could also include skill-building classes that help you gain confidence and independence.
🛒 Consumables
Everyday items and low-cost assistive equipment related to your disability.
(Note: Medicines are not covered.)
🚗 Transport
This budget may cover costs to help you travel to:

School or education programs

Work
-
Community activities
Home & Living Supports:
Extra help for living independently, including:

Supported Independent Living (SIL)
-
Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA).

Young People in Residential Aged Care: Support for participants under 65 living in aged care.
🦽 Assistive Technology (AT)
Specialised equipment or technology.
You usually need an assessment and a quote to access this funding.
🏡 Home Modifications
Covers changes to your home that help you live independently.
🏠 Specialist Disability Accommodation
SDA is now its own budget category.
Capacity Building Supports
Capacity Building funding helps you grow skills, independence, and confidence. It’s not as flexible as Core Supports, but you can choose how to spend it within each category.
